In this Privacy Policy, references to we, us or our mean the PAKTAMEER that processes your personal information and interacts with you.

In the course of our dealings with you, we will collect and process personal information about you. Personal information includes any information allowing us to identify you as an individual, for example, your name, your email address or your telephone number.

We are committed to protecting your privacy. We will use your personal information in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations that relate to data protection and privacy.
Our rights in relation to the personal information that we hold, including your rights to change, delete and see your information.

We may share your personal information with other organisations that may receive and process your personal information as a controller in their own right.

What information do we collect?

We collect the following types of personal information:

(a) Information we collect when you register with us

When you register with us, we may ask you for a number of pieces of information including:

your name;

your postal/delivery address;

your email address;

your telephone number;

your profession;

a password – please keep this safe;

whether you would like to receive information from us via email, SMS text, post or telephone;

Information that you provide by filling in forms, including those on our Digital Services. This includes information provided by you at the time of becoming a registered user of our Website or a member of a scheme we operate or if you enter any competition or promotion sponsored by us. This information could include your name, date of birth, address, contact details, information about your home and information about your DIY and home improvement capabilities and intentions; and

information concerning your marketing preferences.

When you shop with us online, browse our Websites or other organizations’ websites where our adverts are shown, or use our Digital Services, we may collect:

Information about any devices you have used (including the manufacturer, model and operating system, IP address, browser type and mobile device identifiers);

Product selection;

Cookies and information about your online browsing behavior and history on our Digital Services, your location, and information about when you click on one of our adverts (including those shown on other organizations’ websites);

Information that you provide to us by using our Digital Services, including any photos you have uploaded on our web and mobile platforms and applications;

Information contained in and records of communications between us, including recordings of telephone calls when you contact us and instant messaging applications;

Information about your preferences in connection with our Digital Services, for the purposes of enhancing and personalizing your experience on our Digital Services;

Please note that if you register an account online with us, we will be able to link the information collected from you before registration (such as your online browsing behavior) to your account and future information that we collect after registration.

If you provide us with personal information about another person, you must ensure that before you provide us with their personal information, you have their agreement to do so and that they are aware of the ways in which we use personal information as set out in this Privacy Policy.

Why do we ask for this information?

When you place an order we need your contact and payment information to enable us to take payment and fulfil your order. You can browse our website without providing us with any of this information. When you want to place an order via the website, we ask you to login or register so you can open a customer profile and upload and save images, save your browsing information and your preferences and retrieve them from any of your devices.

We ask for information (for example your tastes in colour and style, the size of your house) to better guide you in the viewing of our offering and use of our services.

You may also provide us with personal information via our forums, product questions and reviews, customer support video chat, survey responses or competition entries.

We will ask for or collect your personal information when you use our customer support services, including telephone support, instant messaging and video chats.

We ask for your permission to send you marketing and promotional material via post, telephone, email and SMS so that we can send you free gifts, discount vouchers, invitations to events, special offers and other marketing material that we believe may be of interest to you. If you give permission, you will be able to withdraw it at any time:

by using the unsubscribe link in each communication we send out which will opt you out of receiving either marketing emails or SMS messages, as applicable;

Please note that, even if you choose not to receive this marketing information, we may still use your personal information to provide you with important services communications, including communications in relation to any orders you submit or products you purchase. We may also offer you the opportunity to indicate the specific types of marketing communications you are particularly interested in receiving from us; where possible, we will tailor the communications you receive to reflect your choices, but we may send you other communications that may be of interest to you. If you are a PAKTAMEER Club member, please note that by opting out of marketing communications from us, you will also opt-out of receiving PAKTAMEER Club communications.

Purpose of Processing

carry out our obligations under any contracts entered into between you and us for example, we will use your payment details and delivery address to process and fulfil your order(s), and to communicate with you about your order for a service or product;

Our Digital Services are not intended for children and we do not knowingly collect data relating to children.

How long do we keep your personal information?

At PAKTAMEER, we recognize and respect the importance of protecting the privacy of our customers.

We collect personal information about you from a variety of sources, including from you directly e.g. when you contact us or sign up for an account, information we generate about you in the course of our relationship with you and information we collect about you from other sources, including commercially available sources, such as public databases (where permitted by law).

The categories of information that we may collect directly from you include the following:

Personal details e.g. date of birth

ID documents e.g. drivers licence or CNIC card

Proof of ability e.g. skill based questionnaires, Gas Safe registration, plumbing
qualifications, evidence of work done etc.

Payment details; Charging monthly for staying onboard with Paktameer.

Information we collect about your use of the Services

Information about your usage of our Websites and Apps e.g. the pages you visit when using the Services, the search terms you enter on the Services, how often you use the Services, and the pages you access before and after accessing the Services;

Unsolicited complaints from 3rd parties about Trade Professionals;

Technical information about the delivery of emails, sms and push notifications

How we use your personal information and the basis on which we use it

We may use your personal information for the following purposes:

Identification and authentication

We use your identification information, e.g. username and password, to verify your identity when you access and use our Services and to ensure the security of your personal information. This is so we can comply with our contractual obligations to you.

Operating our Services

We process your personal information to provide the Services you have requested. This is so we can comply with our contractual obligations to you.
Improving our Services

We analyse information about how you use our Services to provide an improved experience for the users of all our Services, including product testing, site analytics, call recordings and surveys. It is in our legitimate business interests to use the information provided to us for this purpose, so we can understand any issues with our Services and improve them.

Preventing Fraud

We analyse the information to detect fraudulent activity including but not limited to: creating new accounts for banned users and posting fake feedback. It is in our legitimate business interests to use the information provided to us for this purpose, so we can keep the service safe for all of our users.

Communicating with you

We may use your personal information when we communicate with you, for example if we are providing information about changes to our terms and conditions or if you contact us with questions. It is in our legitimate interests that we are able to provide you with appropriate responses and provide you with notices about our Services.

Marketing

We may use your personal information to create a profile about you, place you into marketing segments in order to better understand your preferences and to personalise the marketing messages we send to you. It is in our legitimate interest to provide you with more relevant and interesting advertising messages. Where necessary, we will obtain your consent before sending such marketing messages.

How and when we Share Your Personal Information

We may share your personal information with third parties under the following circumstances:

When you post a job

Your username will be shown publicly on your job page as well as to Trade Professionals people who may be suitable for your job. The approximate location of the job, job title, description and photos will also be displayed but these elements are usually not deemed to be personal information.

When a Trade Professional is shortlisted

We will share the name and phone number of the Job Poster with the shortlisted Trade Professional and the name and phone number of the shortlisted Trade Professional with the Job Poster.

When there is a dispute betwen a Job Poster and Trade Professional

In the event of a dispute, we will share the Trade Professional’s address with the Job Poster on demand and, at our absolute discretion, we may share other relevant information where we are legally permitted.

Search engines

Every Trade account has a public profile page which is displayed in search results to help generate interest from potential customers. The information we display on this page includes but is not limited to: username, company name, trading name, working area, feedback, company information, trades, photographs and other information that you may provide us with. These elements are usually not deemed to be personal information.

Service providers and business partners

We may share your personal information with our service providers and business partners that perform marketing services and other business operations for us for the purposes set forth above. For example, we may partner with companies to process secure payments, fulfill orders, optimise services, serve online behavioral advertising, send newsletters and marketing messages, send support email, communicate via messaging services, and analyse information.

These service providers and business partners may include advertising agencies and fraud prevention agencies which will use your personal information only in the ways described in this policy.

Where required by law

We may share your personal information with law enforcement agencies, courts, other government authorities or other third parties where we believe necessary to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation, or otherwise to protect our rights or the rights of any third party.

In the context of a transaction

We may share your personal information with potential transaction partners, service providers, advisors, and other third parties in connection with the consideration, negotiation, or completion of a corporate transaction in which we are acquired by or merged with another company or we sell or transfer all or a portion of our assets or business. Information Security and Storage

We implement physical, technical, and organisational security measures designed to safeguard the personal information we process through our Services. These measures are aimed at providing on-going integrity and confidentiality for your personal information. We evaluate and update these measures on a regular basis. However, no information system can be 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.

We retain your personal information for as long as we have a relationship with you. When deciding how long to keep your personal information after our relationship with you has ended, we take into account our legal obligations e.g. UK tax legislation requires us to hold information for a minimum of 6 years. We may also retain records to investigate or defend against potential legal claims. We will also retain information on all Trade Professionals to help us prevent fraudulent activity e.g. trying to trying to open multiple accounts.
